For the time being, I'd just hang on to it until we have a clear decision on how to present the material. (I'm thinking we should make a point of doing so this week.) When the time comes you can send it to me by way of pm or email (if you prefer the latter, say so, and I'll send you the address.)

Tom, I'll take these for now:
Bright Star Atlas - (Willman-Bell)
Messier Card - (Sky Pub Corp)
Millennium Star Atlas - (Sky Pub Corp)
Peterson First Guides / Astronomy - (Houghton Mifflin Company)
Edit
Forgot to add: the thread of fact-sheets with links to discussions would be the most intuitive, I think.

Doug, you're going to love the Companion book.
For something to carry the charts in, try an art portfolio. I got a plastic one at Office Max for $10 a few years ago and the charts fit into it with room to spare.

Yes Carol, I was already thinking of getting an art portfolio. To me, it's non-negotiable.
I've really been enjoying the companion book. To me, it makes it have an edge over the Herald-Borbroff. Just seems more organized or something.
Now here's a question: Today my Telrad came in. I see here the reference to "Finder Charts of the Messier Objects". "M1-M110 in two volumes," "106 sturdy, laminated, bound charts." $35.99 per set. Are these charts worth it? (with the telrad circles already drawn on them in such a way as to help you get to the M. object? Or is it easy enough to use the SkyAtlas 2000 with the telrad transparent overlay?
Thanks for any help you can give.

Free Messier Telrad charts: Telrad Charts-Messier However, the Telrad overlay on the Sky Atlas 2000.0 is just as good.

Looks like we're ready to start posting stuff.
Before I initiate the thread, any suggestions for a formal title?

Judging from this: Buyer's guide to Star Charts Star Chart and Atlas Guide, I think we'd get more hits if the title began with the words 'Star Chart' instead of 'Buyer's'. How about Star Chart and Atlas Guide?

It may just be that it's been a long day, but I don't follow what you're trying to illustrate with your two examples.

Public exposure for CN. What I wanted to illustrate by the Google search links was that the first few words of the subject line might make the difference between someone finding us or not finding us. The whole point of this project is to give the online Amateur community a basic springboard to use when making a purchase, right? Well if you were looking to buy star charts but didn't know where to look, most likely you'd go to a search engine and enter 'star charts'.
The way I figure it, if the name of the thread began with 'star charts', we'd have a better chance of popping up on the front page of a search result. If someone's looking for star charts, then they're interested in astronomy. If they're interested in astronomy, what better place to stumble across than CN?

Okay, then, how about...
Star Chart and Atlas Buyer's Guide.
That would make a google search potentially more successful (from our point of view) and still make it very plain what we have to offer, ala Don's suggestion.

Okay, then, sometime in the next day or two the thread will go up. It will be a 'read-only' (i.e. locked) thread to keep it uncluttered, with an appropriate introduction. Each item covered will have it's own post within the thread.
Each entry will carry a by-line of some sort to identify (and give proper credit to) the person who volunteered to cover that publication. I can list you by your real name, your CN handle, or both. If no preference is stated, I'll use the CN handle, since it is recognizable by CN members. (This, along with all else, can be changed as needed. I can edit material in a locked thread.)
I'm actually considering 2 such threads, one for printed atlases and materials, and one for their computerized/online counterparts. Any objections to such a split?

The separation would be arbitrary, Tom. You can print charts from the computer programs. But, keeping them separate would be useful if only for length reasons.

True, but your last point is pretty much what I had in mind. Folks who are looking for a software package won't be interested in all the posts of printed and bound material, so why make them sort through that stuff? The division should make this a bit more user friendly.

Maybe the first post of the thread could be used as an index, sorted by hardcopy/software category, with a name and link to each entry in the following posts, and then they could all still be in one thread regardless of type? (I admit to not following this entire thread/idea/project, sorry Tom, so this could already be the intention for all I know.) Not sure if that would be any less cumbersome or not.

"I can list you by your real name, your CN handle, or both."
'Both' is fine for me.. check my profile for the spelling.
Re: splitting this into two threads, do whatever you feel would be more intuitive from the readers' viewpoint. Remember to include something in the thread titles to indicate what's covered.

I'm not sure what you're suggesting would be workable in a single thread (can you post a link to a post in a thread, in that same thread?), but it does present an idea that could make this more user friendly. There will be an introductory post (been working on that today, in fact) and that post could end with an ever growing (I hope) list of what has been covered in the posts that follow. So the reader could take a quick scan an know whether or not it was worth the effort to move on down the thread if he/she is looking for something specific.
