I took this series of shots last night or rather early this morning. The Canon 20 da at ISO 800 and 3 ten minute shots were combined in Registar and Photoshop Elements for this rendition. The sky was slightly hazy so the faint detail was tough to feather out. I think a bit longer exposure time would have been a big help as at - 5 degrees F the camera was not very noisy. I have done 20 minute shots in the past with no noticeable noise showing up when on automatic dark frame subtraction mode as was the case here.

Very nice image -- the overall structure of the galaxy is really visible. This is one galaxy you don't see too many images of.

Yes, I agree. It was really startling to see this one. Nice image! Jim, I use PS Elements as well . Always good to see someone woking that program!

The core is a bit overexposed, but given your haze condition that's understandable. The structure of the galaxy looks great.
