Hi all,
As I understand it the popular program DSLR Focus does not support the Canon 400D yet, is this correct?
I use DSLR Shutter to organsise my capture times, is there software that can take the finished image straight off the camera and save it to the Hard Drive using the existing USB cable so I am not saving it onto the CF card?

I was going to recommend DSLR focus, but if it doesn't support the 400D, you're just going to have to sell it for a 350D
ImagesPlus also does the same functions as DSLR focus as well as image processing.. but it costs like $250 USD. Personally I use DSLR focus and Iris, which cover all the features of ImagesPlus for just the cost of DSLR focus ($30 USD)

Its on the DSLRFocus todo list according to their website - could be that the Canon SDK doesn't yet support the 400. Thats happened in the past with the 20D etc, programmable camera support took 6 months to appear after camera released to market. Its just a matter of waiting

ImagesPlus does support the 400D if you prefer to buy the software rather than trading your state-of-the-art camera for an obsolete one!

Thanks guys for the input, I was after a program where I could focus while looking at the computer screen, I downloaded nebulosity and gave it a try, works well.
I don't plan on selling my 400D, it suits my every hobby and I love the 2.5" display. As for IMagesplus, well I would ove to be able to afford such a program, but limited funds makes it difficult.
Thanks again for the replies...

I thought the $250 mentioned sounded a little high for ImagesPlus, so I checked the website. It's $179 which includes world wide shipping.

Facing the same situation, I wrote a program that can download an image straight from the 400D to the PC. If you have JPEG selected, it'll display the image immediately after it downloads it, centered at 100%.
It doesn't do a whole lot, but it's freeware.
