I have this beautiful 70-200 F/2.8 L series lens that I am DYING to try behind my ST2000 but I am coming up blank as far as a camera lens adapter.
Does anybody know a way to mount an Canon EOS L series lens to an SBIG camera?
I have the lens. Robofocus setup with belt, mounting plate all ready to go on the NJP, just missing that final little piece.
Any help is really appreciated.

Bobby,
There is a fellow in Australia who specializes in making all kinds of adapters (his name is Steven Moog). I kept pushing him for Canon adapters and he finally came up with both a Canon FD and a Canon EOS adapter for SBIG cameras.

Bobby, did you ever get your SBIG to EOS adapter?
I purchased one and am having a hard time figuring out how to attach it to the camera. I have the 2" and 1.25" adapters with the D block. I thought the thing would screw into the end of the 2" adapter but no luck. I have been looking around on SBIG's site trying to figure out how my ST7-ME is different from the current ST7s.
Anyone have any idea?

I haven't gotten it yet but Based on what I can figure out from the picture, remove the SBIG nosepiece from the DBlock and replace it with the Adapter. Loosen the 3 allen screws and the stock nosepiece will come out. replace it with the adapter. Mine should be here hopefully by Monday.
I just checked the picture on the website and I think the correct way is what I stated last. Loosen the 3 allen screws, remove the block and replace it with the Adapter. Tighten the screws back up.

No go, I can't get it to fit. The threads on the back of the mogg adapter do not even come close to fitting in the D block, too small.
Luckily it ended up fitting the M42 threads on my QHY camera. I guess I can try it out on that for now.
Please let us know how yours fits when you get it. I sure was chomping at the bits to try it out on the ST7, darn!

You can get an adapter for the D-Block that locks in using the 3 allen bolts, and gives you a female T-Thread. I think this is what you need.. I've got one on my ST10 (as I use a 2" t thread nose piece) I simply unscrew the 2" nose piece, and screw in the mogg adapter.

I got one from Precise Parts for my STL11K. It's very pricey - about $300. SocalAstro has one for $195, but the lens doesn't lock to the adapter while the one from Precise Parts does lock.

This is what I use - it's a two part assembly from Hutech consisting of an EOS bayonette that has M57 threads on the reverse side and a part #7522, which is a male M57 to male T-Thread adapter. My ST4K screws directly onto the T-Threads.
The backfocus requirement is 16mm, so I don't know if your setup with the filter wheel will provide enough backfocus to stay within the 44mm allowed with the EOS lens system. Probably not, since the camera itself is 25mm backfocus and with the 16mm from the assembly, you only have 3mm remaining.
Hutech does claim that the 7522 adapter has 52mm filter threads, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how the filter is supposed to fit in there with it's frame and all.

hewholooks: the 52mm filter (or 2" - 48mm with a stepper ring to make it 52) easily fits into the inner part of the M57 tube of 7522. It's at right on the previous image. The EOS adapter screws in on the outer part.

And if you are still looking Bobby, PM me, I have the same but for a Nikon to SBIG, plus an EOS to QHY8. All metal, (as opposed to the Moggs from old), and way cheaper than the figures tossed around above.

Thanks. The problem is that the lip of the Baader filters is too high and it actually protrudes into the back of the lens itself. I have been tinkering with the setup and have found that if I just let the filter sit loose behind the lens within the EOS bayonette adapter, it gets locked into place against the lens hardware when I screw the 7522 onto the bayonette part. Not pretty, but I think it will work with just 1 or 2 mm to spare.
