electric focuser

Just curious, can ya leave the electric focuser on all the time? I have my scope in the JMI case and I always remove the electric focuser. Would it be fine just to leave on?

I haven't taken mine off since I bought the scope... Except for minor maintenance.

Mine stayed on for the 5 years I had the 12" LX200 GPS with no problems.

It seemed the safest place to keep it when the scope was on the pier, it didn't really get in the way if I was lifting it around and in the car it was safely between the forks.

Cheers,

Keith
