I sold an ETX-70 and from I can get out the buyer, it sounds like the right angle rear cell mirror got disloged, or the secondary mirror fell off? I don't have it in front of me as it's in the buyers hands 1000 miles away. Anyway, are either of these possibilities possible? Is there an easy fix?
Thanks, Littlegreenman

Never had this happen on my ETX90???? I suspect you would need to remove the rear of the scope tube to access the mirror???
It must have been bounced around during shipment. Did you get insurance???

Thanks for your replies. I'm going by what the buyer is trying to tell me via email. He took the rear off but says the mirror is missing. I'm guess it got dislodged and is somewhere inside the scope. It may even have been simply flipped upside down-sheer speculation as I don't even know what things are shaped like.
As far as insurance, I don't bother with anything under a few hundred dollars. You may want to read what Dr. Clay Sherrod has to say about shipping insurance; look for a a section on insurance near the end of the page:
http://www.arksky.org/supercharge.htm
My experience having filed a few shipping claims over the years is there is a very low %-age of pay-off. I ship a lot of under $250 items and never insure them. I think I'm ahead because the percentage of lost or damaged items is well under 1%.

If it was inside the scope you would surely hear it rattling around

I wonder if its just a stuck flip mirror? I think it would help if the dude who bought it posted a few pics.

The guy probably just doesn't know what he's looking at.
My flip mirror came loose in cold weather - the adhesive they use isn't glue, it is just some sticky stuff that lost its stickyness when it got cold out. It certainly could also lose it if it got too hot.
