John, no tents allowed but I will be setting up one of those gazebo-type tents. I'm down to 1 7 year old (Rob) coming with me now...

I wasn't able to attend the RCA star party this past weekend so I'm tempted to come up and join you guys at Mt. St Helens.

Does anyone know the latest count of people who plan on attending?

What are the ruleson camping? Can you set up a tent?

Sadly the Forest Service is adamant about 'no tents'. They don't want this overlook to look like a campground to passers-by. I just spend $35 on a U-Haul and sleep in that.

No official head count as there's no registration, but judging by the traffic in this thread I'd expect about 2 dozen.

Tom, it may be a silly question but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask, - it is ok to sleep in car, right?

Sounds like a great deal for a "RV". So the $35 is base fee, not including the charges on mileage?

That's a U-Haul trailer for 2 days. I tow it up. The little 5x8s are pretty light. You can tow one with a 4 cylinder.

I see. Haven't done this before, so to make sure I will end up at MSHSP not hospital, I will not try it this time.

Steve,

By chance, was it you who had the 18" at ALCon's star party a few weeks ago? If so, I had the little RV-6 that was parked next to you.

I will probably only attend Saturday night.

Steve, I believe it was your scope/BVs that I looked through last year when you were pointed at the Veil. Man, that was an amazing sight!!! I'm still in awe of what I saw in your scope.

Hope you make it again this year.
