After got two big CCD chip by chance. I began my big size cooled CCD project.
This two big CCD is come from two bad digital back. One is KAF6300 and from the Canon eos DCS1. The KAF6300 is a 6MP chip and the pixel size is 9um. The other one I still not know the type. I will seal off it and see its back to find the type later. It is also a big size CCD with 22*17 chip size.
Although there is the circuit left in the bad digital back, There is no only document for these circuit .So I decide to design the new circuit board for this project.
The technology of my design is based on my 3.3mega cooled astronomy CCD camera. I modified it and add some parts then support the big CCD well. Adding the USB part and increasing the speed of ADC to reduce the readout time for the 6mega pixels. This board is also a general board, It can support other type KODAK CCD.
Now the PCB design is finished and ready to send to factory.
The KAF6300 chip taken from a bad digital back. A 1/2inch b&w CCD besicde it to compare the size.

If it's a success, you could start selling the PCB's and part partially pre-assembled... i sure would be interested if other CCD's fit as well...
