Just need to fool more with the settings to get rid of
that bright spot near the center

Wow, looks great! You probably just need to set the white point tad higher and tht will clear up the bright spot.

That's VERY nice first image with the LPI!
VERY nice indeed.
Looks like the focus is right on, too.

(Thanks John for that tip on the white point - I often get that on Jupiter also)
