Do you rely on a local lab, home development, mail or a place like Walgreens/Rite-Aid?
Thanks in advance

I send mine to a Professional lab by mail. I get 4 to 5 day turnaround. Excellent results. I use to use my Walmart, but my slides would have occasional "specs" on the emulsion. A pro lab also keeps their chemistry in check. I pay $6.00 for 120 and $7.50 for 35mm 36 exposure. All returned in plastic sleaves. Good luck.

I would either send your film to a professional lab or learn how to develop it yourself. One-hour photo labs are a hit and miss affair, with the risk of your photos being ruined as a result. When I was a young man, I was a photographer who developed and printed all of his own black and white films and on ocassion color slide film as well. When you put all that effort into taking those pictures, it pays to either do the job right yourself or pay a skilled technician to do it for you.

Hi Eric, They opened up a Super Wall Mart next door to me about a year ago and I had some film developed there right after they opened and they did a great job on it. But since then after the new wore off the job they don't want to manually scan the negatives. Since then I have been shooting with Fujichrome Sensia 400 and had to have it sent off to a professional lab because a professional photographer told me that where the dime store 1 hour photo stores send the slides off to will not push them. I sent off my first roll of film Friday and will have it back either tomorrow or Wednesday. We will see how they do.

Jim, Do you have to pay shipping? The ones I shipped off I had to pay $8.50 Shipping. The total was 22.94 and 3 something of that was to push it 2 stops.

Yes I do pay shipping. A $6.00 charge covers an unlimited number of rolls. This is normal USPS shipping. They offer UPS or FEDEX at higher prices. They are a quality operation. There is no reason you could not send your work to them as well. Check them out. http://www.photographictraditions.com/services/e6_slide.asp
I have had no trouble with normal USPS shipping, but I live in the same state. I normally get my work back in two days or so after they ship. I've been very happy.
