Heat Reflective Paint? new
      #1779009 - 08/15/07 01:04 PM

There was a post a while back about a heat reflecting paint. For the life of me, I cannot find the thread. Does anyone know the name of this paint? It has some type of ceramic spheres in it that reflect and dissipate the heat. I'd like to get some of this to put on the white metal roof of my roll-off to try to reduce the internal temp some.

Thanks!!

Don't know the name off hand, (There are several brands), but it's the stuff used on the roofs of older Mobile homes...

Perhaps they may help you find it.

Here is a link to the paint that Big Bear Solar Observatory uses on their domes. It’s called Goldstone #6. Look under Antenna Coatings on the main page. The paint was developed for NASA and BBSO has run tests on this paint and found the flat white to be the coolest. Mt. Wilson is also using a very similar paint.

Thanks to all! The Insul Cool-Coat #2000 is what I was looking for.

Anyone actually used this on their observatory?
