Here's a neat photo taken over the top of the observatory. It was extremely dark over the top of the rainbow (was a double rainbow), & bright underneath; reminded me of looking thru a window.

Last night was an exceptional night for viewing; SQM reading was 21.61. Tonight looks like another great one, then a "Washington" disturbance rolls thru for a couple of days

Oooohhhh, the pain. I can't recall the last night I could do imaging. Washington has nothing BUT disturbances! Even when it's 'clear' it's not clear!
I'll tell you Carol, retirement in Montana isn't out of the question and pictures like you've posted of DreamCatcher are inching it up on the list!

Again, last night was amazing! cooled down to a perfect 59 degrees, no wind. The Milky Way stretched across the sky! There were times, I left the scope, pulled out my foldup camp chair, & just sat & stared at that beautiful sky. It's difficult to even pick out the Constellations, because of so many visible stars.
It's so nice, when in the wee morning hours, I'm tired, & all I have to do, is push the button to close the roof, lock it down, & come up & go to bed.
There's plenty of room for retirement, in Montana!

How very lucky you are, Carol! I haven't seen the Milky Way like that since I was a little girl so many years ago!! Enjoy your lovely sky for all of us!

Carol, it is absolutely breathtaking to see it stretched completly across the sky; and so many stars, it's difficult to pick out the Constellations.

Too cold in the winter for me. Anything below 35 deg F is too cold.
