O.K. Tom, but can I at least look masculine?? This is NOT going to go over well at my next public observing session I think I'll be committed to backyard observing for the rest of my life

Leather boots are still in style for manly footwear...

Not the clunky ones I own! You mean to tell me I gotta wear my wifes red cowboy boots or suede high-heel boots?

Yes, manly leather boots...and I'm sure all of you look just dapper when observing! Really!

Actually Stacy, during the warm Phoenix summer months I'm usually wearing boxer shorts and an old t-shirt to keep me cool while backyard observing. Somehow the word dapper doesn't seem to quite fit my attire

I can't believe StacyJo and Betsy missed the ultimate in observing raiment: The Cloudy Nights Tee Shirt.

Of course, if you don't have one, you'll have to compensate with designer labels or large scopes...

Dashing and elegant; that's us!

I prefer to wear a black, hooded sweatshirt while observing. It matches my black SV AT1010 and my C8. You can't go wrong with basic black. However, after I pick up my white TV Genesis next week, I may have to vary my observing attire somewhat to go with it. It might be too much to go all white, so I will experiment with a few white accessories, perhaps a pocket handkerchief.

For star parties, should I rent a tuxedo?

Craig,
You sound like what my mom used to dress me when it was cold...the Michellan Man! Can you move in that outfit? It certainly sounds warm and your taste for wool socks certainly lends yourself to GQ. Well done sir, well done!

Stacy

The Michellen Man is my fashion hero and I try to emulate him whenever possible. I forgot to add the finger tipless blue fleece gloves to the list. I don't have to move, I just ride on a heavy current of static electricity generated by all the layers.

I have all the fashion sense of a rower, and I observe:
- in the summer, basically in the boxers and t-shirt I have on as a pajama. Sometimes a "real" short (which can be a bathing trunk!).
- in the fall and spring, added layers which have little to do with appeal and frankly little more to do with comfort. It's just adding layers. I tend to overdress a little, like wear two fleece sweaters and a boatman's jacket, with unassorted wool hat
- in the winter, I take that ski suit which I bought at a 30% discount because no customer liked the color.

How'd you like having me at your star party?

Boy! Ain't we a swave & deboner bunch?
Good thing most of our observing is done at night.

ArizonaScott - boxers are much sexier than anything else!
Victor - what about a red hankerchief? Certainly would be daring.
Matt - I'm sure you would set a new standard
Lighttrap - hmmm, sounds tempting!
Craig - I'm very pleased to see you have a fashion mentor - everyone needs one!

Sez who? My son & I have matching Star Wars boxers. His has Anakin, and mine have fighter ships. I think they're kinda goofy lookin', but it makes him happy to see Dad with them on.

StacyJo, you're a hoot!

Scott, I'd rather have fighters than Anakin anyday!

I have no idea myself, but I think StacyJo would say it depends who's wearing them.
