Sweet!

Do you have any idea about the total weight of the scope once assembled?

Cheers

Olivier

Nice touch! I was wondering if this will facilitate cooldown of the primary mirror since it is not "enclosed" in a "box"? Any thoughts?

That dark red stain definitely is a thing of beauty! I'm glad someone finally picked up where I left off.

Nice lightweight design too! AstroSky is certainly carving out a nice piece of the scope market.

Keep up the good work,

Very nice!

If a 16" weighs in at 32 lbs, a 12" or so should weigh in at 20-something... which is very portable, especially for that large an aperture.

Will these light-weight Dobs come in smaller sizes than 16" aperture? Some folks - myself for one - love ultra-portable designs since they are easy on the back.

Matt,

Thank, depend on size scope, larger size take out more wood and more save weight than smaller scope. Will working on from 10" to 16" now. I ordered larger CNC router equipment, will be in around Dec.and able make bigger 20+ size scope. Lightweight dob is not available till Jan.2008

Beautiful scope James; I wish my 10" was stained like that and had the cutouts. But, you can't have everything in life. Mine is a great performer and is a beauty also. Keep up the good work. Are you going to Deep South?
