Hi everyone
Took this widefield shot of M27 the day before full moon. The sky was very clear and seeing was above average.

Nice round stars, I might add! If you only went a bit longer or perhaps used 800iso... Great image nevertheless...

Great job, Bob. How do you manage those 3-minute exposures unguided??

Wow!! Thanks everyone
These "bonus images" are sometimes the most rewarding because I really don't expect very much out of them. There's no planning (just pick the brightest object west of the meridian) or angst worrying about someones security light coming on. It's too bright to autoguide, so there's another headache out of the way. Just align the mount, focus and frame...a very enjoyable evening
DW, the CGE is capable of very accurate tracking at shorter focal lengths (600mm +/-), The 300D imaging thru the ED80 has an image scale of about 2.5 arc-seconds per pixel. With the CGEs PE coming in at about 5 arc-seconds with PEC running, you can get nice round stars at 3 minutes nearly 100% of the time (if aligned and balanced properly)
