I'm sorry more of you couldn't make it, although it really was secondary to the MSHSP plan. I'm really pleased with how suitable the site is for a larger bunch, and how much better the skies are than we saw in May. I'd be happy to host another one. Late September?

Mike,
your site looks awesome. Glad you had such a nice outing. That site is beautiful - open, green, great views, roomy. Nice to have a good group of people, that makes it all worthwhile. TMSP was like that for us - great camping neighbors and room for the kids to be free/explore made up for the weather.

Rob,
glad your GOMOC viewing worked out, having anymore get togethers?
1:30 Sunday morning at TMSP I was marveling at the frost on my eyepiece case and friend's table. Sure was beatiful naked eye and with bins - if you lowered them between looks to let the dew clear.
You are right about the company - pretty darn nice at any of these get togethers.

GOMOC has been awesome. Even last night Monday..I had an outreach and demonstration.
Many of the locals and many children were given a Cellestial tour and education of the Milky Way, and so much moor. The attendies were educated in light polution..night time viewing, and constellation identification.
It was a blast. It ended by 12:00, and I then enjoyed some personal viewing.
Couldn't push it till 3:00 like the other night...but the outreach experience was so exciting. Small personal bino viewing was a great aid too. Apart from the long lines at my gear.
I think I have scheduled several tours this week for some local amateurs(I'll have to check).

Just catching up on this thread, I'm glad to hear so many of you guys were able to get out this past weekend! Even when weather wasn't totally cooperating, sounds like y'all at least had some viewing opportunities and even better, socializing opportunities. Thanks for sharing all the pics, too, I always enjoy seeing the PNW scenery.

Steph, here is one from Table Moutain Star Party 2008.
Mt Adams on the horizon and the great meadow/pasture.
My favorite part of TMSP is seeing my kids and their star party friends running off in the field exploring. Catching grasshoppers, flying kites, stomping stomp rockets, and just being free.
It conjures up my memories of my Midwest youth - playing in the woods, catching crayfish in the creek, running through cornfields.

I've never met a kid who didn't want to go back to Table Mountain again. It has to be the best kid-friendly event I've ever seen.
