No, but I got out and rode my bike before I went to work swing shift.

Totally different this morning, gray and rainy. Now tonight it's cleared up again and supposed to be nice the next few days.....

....right on schedule for the biggest full moon of the year.

Nope...I try to go on the ferry only when its sunny. I'll go back via the Narrows bridge on cloudy days.

Now you boys get out there and view that comet! If y'all haven't seen it yet, it is WAY cool.

Thanks Steph!! I just got back in from checking it out! Cool for sure

I was 'servin with my binoculars and a neighbor came by walking her dog. She wondered what I was looking at (she probably guessed I was spyin') so I gave her the skinny on the comet and a look-see (as they say in Texas). We'd never met before so it was a nice bit of outreach - met a new neighbor and a new comet at the same time

Pretty interesting comet, even in my 60mm at up to 100x. Nice bright center and a fuzzy ring like halo around it. Sort of orange colored. A little lopsided.

That moon sure is bright! Kind of chilly out too. If it's still good this weekend I'll have to lug out the C8.

Woo Hoo! Thar she glows!

Worser luck, tho, on the other end of the night. Two days now I've gotten up a bit early to look at Mars. Two days now it's clouding up just as I get out. I'll try again tomorrow. Scope should be cooled down!
