I made a naked eye observation of a Waxing Crescent Moon (2.7 days old) between cloud layers over the southwestern horizon on November 12, 2007 at 23:10 U.T. Earthshine was easily noted over the unlit portion of the Moon. Dusky markings (maria) were noted over the unlit portion as well. Jupiter, the king of the planets, was shining brightly (-1.84m) approximately 5.5 degrees from the Moon. The colors noted below the Moon were beautiful pastels.

Beautiful digital painting Carlos! I was greeted with this spectacular sight when peering through my motel window last evening. I thought about you capturing this thin, shimmering sliver and was delighted to experience it again through your talented eyes and hand. Thank you my dear friend!

Lovely suspended Earthshine moon.
