Sometimes you come across something on a webpage that would be useful to post as a reply, but some URL's are long and meaningless if you post them "as is" They also distort the page, making the posts above and below hard to read.

Instead of clicking on the "continue" button and posting a long link. Try clicking on the preview reply button and scroll down the screen to "edit some more"

Once you've posted in your link, click OK and a second Java script button will open, this one will allow you to give your link a short but meaningful discription.

Thanks for posting that in such an easy to understand way, Kiwi. Descriptions of this method without the pictures leave some folks scratching their heads. It's really sooo easy.

Which area is a more active one than the reflector bunch Mike posted a similar guide in the OTO, might be best to just put a link to this thread in some of the other forums.

That works, but I use a different method. I cut the link and then go to TinyURL.com where I can paste it and they return a small link in its place.

I prefer Steve's method. All it takes is a Ctrl-C and a Ctrl-V!
I'm leaving it here, Steve!

The only problem with this method is that firewall programs may block it and prevent the reader of your post from acessing the link you wanted to post.
Ken Kobayashi's method is easy too (if you use it enough to remember:

Or you could just type
Code:
