Hipparchus
      #3080294 - 05/02/09 01:43 AM Attachment (42 downloads)

Yesterday I sketched Hipparchus with my 12 cm f/5 refractor. I tried to find out what this short and easy-to-use instrument is capable of at the moon. I used a magnification of 100x and a green filter to enhance contrast.
The crater stood well near the terminator and showed interesting shadows at its floor.

Uwe,

Very nice sketch. I really enjoy the way you use different approaches in your lunar sketching. They all work very well and you always manage to get a 3-D look in your lunar drawings. Thanks for posting.

Uwe,

Your use of contrasts is nicely done. I think you captured some of those "interesting shadows" nicely.

Uwe,

Great sketch of crater battered Hipparchus. I'd say you proved that 12cm refractor has whar it takes!
