Robofocus mount for Takahashi Refractor
      #316614 - 01/20/05 01:36 AM Attachment (254 downloads)

I've just made my second version of a Robofocus mount for a Takahashi refractor. A guy from my club made the request. The first mount was a three piece design. This one is machined from one piece of material. The Robofocus mount that he was supplied with was 1/32" thick. His complaint was that flexing from the mount made it impossible to have prime focus. The mount I made is 3/16" thick. To bring down costs I made seven of the things hoping that the club member could sell them. If it works I'll post a photo. (I'm not sure of the scope, but I think it's a five inch refractor) Comments are welcome!

I just realized that it may be easier to just E-mail me at MMICKELS@aol.com Please put Robofocus mount in the subject, so I don't delete it as spam.
I'm asking $100.00 USD for the remaining 6 and will pay for shipping in the US.

All remaining parts have been hard black anodized. Same price though.

Hello Mark!
I want to get three of those very nice mounts for robofocus on TAL Refraktor. I do own FSQ 106, FS 128 and FS 152. Will it fit to all of those? What is the price all together including shipment to Germany?
Shipping adress is:
Harald Bardenhagen
Suelzguertel 42
50937 Koeln
GERMANY

How do you want the payment?

Greetings,
Harry

If you make them to fit FS-102 focusers, I (and at least two other people I'm aware of) will be interested.

Eric

Eric, the major problem is that I don't have everyones equipment at my disposal to measure and check fit and function. I wish I did, but I have to wait until someone loans me something to work with. Sorry.

Paul, I'm down to two of the plated ones, and have one that's not plated. I'm only going to guarantee fit on the FSQ-106.

I got my RoboFocus mounting plate in last Fri and was able to take it out for the new moon weekend. It looks and works GREAT! Much better than the mounting plate that was included with the RoboFocus...

Great work Mark.

BTW, if there is more interest, I'll do another run of these things. It doesn't make sense to run less than 10 at a time because of the plating charges.

Mark,

I am very interested if it will work on a TOA-130. Please let me know. My off-line e-mail is spearman@factoryphysics.com.

Thanks,

Mark
