Dee,

Fantastic sketching and fortitude in facing down the clouds.
It looks like much change in 94 minutes. Love the colors.

Beautiful sketches of a fast changing AR Dee! Glad you defied the clouds and went for it anyway, there are many who don't take the time to set up if it looks like they'll have to catch the view between gaps in the fluffies!

Dee,

Excellent observations of active region 11024. You have recorded the changing appearance of this active region very nicely. Thank you for sharing them with us all.

Nice sequence, Dee. Active regions are difficult to do in color, especially when they won't stand still. You've done a fine job. You were out there in the middle of a lot of activity--check out the GOES plot for July 4th. All those red spikes are B class flares.

I observed #1024 with my PST for only 5 minutes yesterday (~2000 UT) due to weather. Even observing through clouds, the active region was bright--and that was during a down turn in activity.

BTW, I saw your drawing on Spaceweather this morning.

Thanks everyone , I felt so lucky to see such a clear observation of this massive object. Solar sketching is a real challenge , I enjoy it so much.
