I want to try and experiment with a couple of sticky threads and I rely on this being on a honor system so I need everyone to help and keep these two threads under control.
I want to make Two different threads of images only, and there is to be no comments or questions asked in these threads. I want these threads to be a library of images under two separate Categories, DSOs and Galaxies. To post an image you may go to 100k and no larger than 800x600. I’m sure many of you all will post a smaller file size image off in your own thread where it can be discussed and eventually expire like many of the everyday post but we will maitain a nice library of images to help new imagers. So remember no first light images unless you’re Robert Gendler or you actually take a good first image. They don’t have to be Robert Gendler class, but you know whether your image meets the requirements or not.
The image must be:
1) A good high quality image that you think really adds to the thread
2) It must have complete image capturing information to include equipment used.
You can add processing techniques if you want, but that is not necessary unless you want to provide it. I would appreciate the processing information, but as I said it is not necessary, but the capturing and equipment information is.
The point to this is to provide a good library of images for new imagers to look at and see what exposure times where necessary. Other nice to have information is a date of the image so people who are new to imaging know what time of year to expect to see the object. This will be a test run and as long as it remains manageable we will keep it going, but if it gets out of control, because people do not pay attention I’ll delete the whole thread.
Finally, do not change the title of this thread when you post your image; leave the original title of the thread so people don’t confuse it with another thread.

The current estimate for the number of stars in our galaxy is 100 billion, while the U.S. National Debt is 8 trillion dollars. They used to be called astronomical numbers, but now they should be called economical numbers!
