January 1, 2009 - 1st day of International Year of Astronomy 2009

January 4 - 8 - American Astronomical Society 213th Meeting, Long Beach, California

March 16 - 28 - Globe at Night Project (You measure sky darkness)

March 23 - 27 - Lunar and Planetary Science Conference, The Woodlands, Texas

March 28 - Earth Hour

April 2-5 - 100 Hours of Astronomy

April 4 - International Sidewalk Astronomy Night

April 20 - World Night in Defense of Starlight

April 20 - 26 National Dark Sky Week

April 27 - May 3 Astronomy Week

May 2 - Astronomy Day

May 2 - 5 - AAS Division on Dynamical Astronomy - The 40th Annual Meeting Virginia Beach, Virginia

June 7-11 - American Astronomical Society 214th Meeting Pasadena, CA

June 14 - 18 - AAS Solar Physics Division Meeting - Boulder, Colorado

July 17 - July 20 - Astrobiology Graduate Student Conference (AbGradCon) - Seattle, WA, USA

October 4 - 9 - AAS Division for Planetary Sciences Conference - San Juan, Puerto Rico

Oct. 4 - 10 - World Space Week

Thanks for the list Jason.
Folks can we make a lot more noise about Earth Hour 2009? If for no other reason than it would give us an hour of dark sky to enjoy IYA2009 a bit more fully.
