Best files to save for the DSI? new
      #375365 - 03/15/05 04:09 PM

Does the DSI do "AVI" files? It mentions that it can do time lapse photography. I've been shooting Saturn and saving them to JPEG. Is this what I should be doing? Thanx!

There are several utilities floating around to convert a series of still frames into an animation. I recently found a free utility on Bloodshed.net that will convert a series of BMPs into an AVI. I tinkered with it a bit last night and it worked great. I think ImageN will convert JPEGs into an AVI. The DSI software by iteself won't create an AVI, but the time-lapse option is there to help automate the process of taking images at fixed intervals to make an AVI (or other animation).
