M82 - 8" Newt + MallinCam Pro
      #381354 - 03/21/05 11:04 AM

Hey Everyone,

Here is my latest M82 from this past weekend. Average transparency with a setting moon. This is unprocessed pretty much other than stacking. 25 x 2sec images, some of which were with increased gain setting to pull out a little more. Image was done at F5 (1000mm fl), no polar alignment.

Faintest stars visible are around 17th mag. Can't wait to see what a night with good transparency and no moon will do!

Thanks,

-Gord

Only 2 secs?
Thats a lot of information for a such short exposure time. You can be very happy with this image.

Thanks Ralph, it's the type of camera, very sensitive. It helps for doing imaging on a less than perfect mount without guiding.

I'm pretty happy with the image, but want to learn how to process it better. That and the dark shadow on the lower left is a spec of dust on the array. I need to find out how to remove it without hurting anything.
