Quick questions.
      #444990 - 05/18/05 08:12 PM

I have a old pair of binoculars that I would like to use with my camera tripod. Do they make anything that would allow me to do that? I just can't hold the binoculars steady enough to use them for anything meaningful. If someone could point me in the right direction I would love it.

If there's a cap that unscrews from the front of the center shaft, it's probably 1/4"x20, and several vendors sell "L" brackets (Orion, Astronomics, Anacortes, Oberwerk, etc.) that'll work.

I swear I love this place.... I didn't even know I had a center shaft on those things. Looks like a L bracket will work for me. Thanks so much!

Not all "OLD" binoculars have a 1/4 x 20 screw thread under that cap. I have two pair that will not accept the standard L bracket screw.
