The San Jose Astronomical Association has public star parties at their in town location (Houge Park) roughly twice a month on Fridays (near 1st qtr moon and near 3 qtr moon).
Check the websit for directions.
We usually have 15 or 20 telescopes on a nice night. I usually bring one of my AP refractors. :-)
Come on down!

Follow up report.
We had clear skies. There were nearly 20 telescopes. A fine AP 155 EDFS APO refractor, a fine TMB 6" f/? APO refractor. An 18" Obsession Dob and many more.
Just one little problem... the seeing was very bad. The jet stream was flowing over our part of California and everything was fuzzy. Grrrr.
We will be out again on July 1st.
