Had the opportunity last night despite the cold and dewy conditions to try out my Orion 80mm ED for its first imaging run using a D70 ....Triffid/Lagoon nebula, M22 and M6...all the shots where just a single 10min exposure at 800iso using a IDAS filter and a meade 6.3 focal reducer using a Antares photo adapter .

Very nice! Never seen 'em from that angle before The M20 image has part of M8 at the top, I think.
Wish I had cold and dewey here. It's hot and dewey, when it's not raining
Single 10 minute exposure, eh? These will be of some interest on a couple of other threads
What did you use to guide?

Beautiful shots and great detail.
Only problem i see is that they are upside down.

Thanks Tom and Aurora , i was just thankful to get out so i didnt complicate the situation with guiding etc just had the Orion piggyback on a LX200 drift aligned and PEC trained. Also used the D70's inbuilt noise reduction. Very pleased with the Orion , nice scope. Thought i would compare a Nikkor 70-300mm ED lens for CA on the night too with a piggyback shot at 300mm of Eta Carine , fair bit of it....
