Hmmm. Not really. I'm planning on building one of my own next spring. I've been trying to think of a name, but haven't decided on one yet. I'm sure you'll pick a good one though!

Edit: Oh yeah, the observatory looks bloody good! class A job man!

Depending on how close you are, what bout Smoky Mountain Observatory? SMO Initials. I did a small google search for Smoky Mountain Observatory and found nothing?! My son (who's reading this over my shoulder) says: "Maybe you couldn't find one because it's to smoky up there for one! I mean it has to be clear to see stars right?" lol. Guess next month we are going to have to go on a road trip lol!

I too was thinking along Phrozin R/T TT's line. Try to pick out a geographical or topigraphical feature close by. IE, a mountain, a brook or creek, a river, a named valley or something along those lines. As for me, I have some features like that VERY close by where I live. I could name my observatory to-be Halfway Creek Observatory, or Kanes Falls Observatory, or Putnam Hollow Observatory to name a few. I was even trying to work my two childrens names into a name. The only thing that sounds halfway decent is Johntia Observatory (John being my boys middle name & Tia being my girls first name). Kinda has a nice ring to it. I've got plenty of time still to think of a name though. When you've decided on one, please share it with us, would you? Good luck!

Nope, if you name it Stoner you might have a problem with officers wanting to look around every friday night. And not at DSO's either.

No, in all seriousness, did you mean stoner, or stones?

I like Stones River Observatory better then Stoner River Observatory.

Joe

Stoned or sober, it looks great! You've achieved a very professional looking result. Well done!
