I had a fairly good view of Mars this morning at 0400. Seeing was about 5-6. Dewpoint was high and Mars was beginning to set. There was a lot of atmosphere to see through.
Polar cap was very prominent, as was a very large dark mare area running east to west across the planet.
I started with a 12.7mm and worked down to a 6.4mm. The atmosphere wouldn't support that magnification so i went to the 9.6mm and that gave the best view. These are all Meade Super Plössel's. I could really use a filter to bring out more detail.
The new pier is working out great. No more polar alignments every time I set-up. It's always set up and all I have to do is mount the OTA in the ring cage.
