For a different perspective I decided to focus on the edge of the southern hemisphere through a Meade 178ED with a Televue Big Barlow and a Siebert Optics focal extender using a Televue Prime Focus tube. Canon 300D, I sec. exposure.

Nice image Gary!
Makes me feel like I'm in a spacecraft hurtling along the endless arc of a lunar orbit.
Quite a beautiful image! Rich

Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement.
By the way; I get the feeling that two of the ridges at the top of the arc are complementary and lead me to suspect that I may be looking at the profile of a very large impact crater.
If anyone is familiar with lunar topography, any information would be appreciated.
Thanks & Clear Skies
