Another drift alignment question new
      #686517 - 11/14/05 12:01 PM

Hi everyone,

Due to a disagreement with the property owner of the place I use to do my imaging I have lost access to the property.

My new place unfortunately does not have access to either horizon low enough for accurate drift alignment. At the previous place I could easily get to the western horizon for drift alignment. I tried to drift align at the new location last night and could not get it accurate as I had to use a star that was too high in the eastern sky and have no access to the western sky.

My question is this: is there another way to do drift alignment when access to either horizon is limited? What are my other options? Would a GPS-enabled scope and autoguiding remove the need for drift alignment?

Is there any hope for those of us with limited access to each horizon to do drift alignment for astrophotography?

Thank you for any help - this is a very frustrating set back and I hope there is some solution!

Thanks,

Cameran

I posted an alignment procedure for you to try in the DSLR forum; hope it helps.

Dear Joe,

I have the same problem but I couldn't access your procedure. Could you please tell me how I can find this information.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.
