Let's look at this logically.
- The joke'll be on you guys when I don't even bring it next year... Indicates she'll be there, but not bringing the RCX400
- Who said anything about a replacement? No affirmation, but no denial, either. She could be replacing it. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, that she's not misleading us, she's not replacing the RCX. Maybe a new supplemental scope, hmmmm.
- Who said anything about mooching or getting another telescope?
Oh wait, that was you that said that... No affirmation, but no denial. She could be mooching or getting another telescope. Again, if she's being honest, indicates she'll bring a scope, and it's not a new one. Narrows it down to an old one.
So Steph may just bring her TV102 and 80 WO Zenithstar. My final guess, Regis.

Why would you go to the TSP and only bring a finder scope.

Very nice, but she strikes me more of a Obsession kind of person.

Nah...more StarMaster than Obsession.
Actually it doesn't matter...as long it is a larger scope.

She strikes me as awfully tight-lipped (surprising for someone with 6300 posts on CN in just 14 months) when it comes to what she's bringing to TSP 2007.
I don't think Steph is going to get a larger scope. She doesn't like the weight of her lightweight RCX, so she's definitely not going to like the weight of a 20" Starstructures scope.

She could probably roll a scope out of her garage, at least in the limited pictures I have seen of her proprty.

Maybe with $3/gallon gasoline, she doesn't want to drive a rental van that distance. Her refractors would probably fit in a family sedan wth no problem. Not so the RCX.

As a previous winner of the "Lone Star Gazer" award, I would love to go for 2007, but first I need to find a job so I can pay for all that gasoline at all those high prices.

Now that I have my own Bortle class 2 site (class 1 in the east and SE)up here in the Ozarks developed and ready for use, I will likely be foregoing any star parties that involve a long drive or expense. Friday night August 18 was wonderful out there, good views were had of the Helix Nebula and M33, among other things. It rained the next night, but all was safe and dry in the little cabin at the roof of the Ozarks. Maybe I'll make a couple days at TSP sometime to keep in touch.
