Hi,
I just took advantage of Digitec's free web hosting for astro related websites (see vendor forum) and am working on a site. I have a basic skeleton up with a couple of my recent photos as the background of the main page and a description of my equipment and a working links page. Don't have my photo gallery done yet. If anybody wants to take a look at what I have so far go to Panther Creek Observatory (http://panthercreekastro.astronomyspot.com). Comments and suggestions welcome.

I have just finished some major updates to my site. I now have created a logo for the site and my "observatory" and I have added several pictures to the equipment page and the gallery page has several of my best photos and you can now click on the thumbnails on the gallery page to get a larger (800X600) version of the pictures along with a description of the object and details of the equipment and techniques used to take the photos. I have also added a page for my other hobby - drag racing.
Again comments or suggestions welcome.

Looks good.. But a heads up.. using frontpage is making your site work only with Internet explorer and not too well with other browsers... In Mozilla/Firefox, the CSS commands "position: absolute" are making the images sit ON TOP of some of the text or other images.
The problem is NOT the code though. Its the fact that IE is not up to date with the standards established with CSS.

Neo,
Thanks for the heads up. I actually used MS Publisher initially and exported the document to a web page and that is where the issues come from. I am going to re-do the pages with either Nvu or Composer or possibly even something else. I hadn't visited the site with Firefox yet so I hadn't noticed the issue with the stuff displaying over the text, but I did notice when I called one of the pages up in another HTML editor that it appeared that way so today I looked at it with Firefox and sure enough same issue. Looks like I will have something to do on some cloudy nights (and while waiting for the rest of the stuff I need to get my autoguiding going again).
Thanks!

Thats why I like hand-coding with Notepad.. I can see where everything is...
I had a *Word deleted by the CN gnaughties gnomes* of a time getting thins to line up with IE and still look good in everything else.. Thats the beauty of CSS though. I just have a seperate CSS page that loads for those using IE.. This way, I can keep any "Special" code out of the regular browsers, and eliminate any compatability issues...
