Using my 40mm f/10 Coronado PST and 8-24mm Vixen LV Lanthanum zoom and 8mm Tele Vue Radian eyepieces, I observed the large leading limb prominence early yesterday afternoon.
I also took a number of afocal photographs with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel DSLR. Of course, my shots are rather modest compared to those of Greg Piepol and other solar imagers that post their excellent work here.

Dave, that's a great image, especially with the full disk to show off how large that prom really was. It puts it all in perspective.
Did you happen to see the smaller fainter proms yesterday at the EP too?

You captured it, Dave! The big prom and the whole sun too. Excellent.
Bring your camera to NEAF and we'll do some imaging together.
Thanks,
Greg Piepol

Very nice capture Dave! Don't let those "BIG GUNS" intimidate you! I've been trying for 9 months now and I've resigned to be happy with what I HAVE! Practice and improve on what you have AND...don't forget to have FUN!
Best, Ron
