I have a pair of 25x100 skymasters that I have made a cardboard cell to house the Badder film for solar viewing.
After contacting Celestron about extra objective caps, they informed me no deal. I am trying to make this look better and smaller as well as easier to take along than my big cardboard box cell. Any ideas on how to make this possible.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Caableguy,
Just a thought here, and this has been addressed here on the forum in several posts as of late.
I have collecting plastic caps off every conceivable commodity can for some time now, i.e., coffee cans, garlic gars, cat food cardboard containers, even medication bottles--you name it.
Eventually, you'll find a match to what you require. You can cut the size hole you need and paint a flat black on the "adapter," and then you can attach your solar filter.
I have a bag of these caps in my basement just for something like this. Good luck. Of course finding TWO of exactly what you need is a whole different story!
Regards,
Dave.

If you need to make a cap to protect the Baader, maybe your local plumbing supply has pipe caps which would fit. It's worth a try, anyway.

Why don't you just use the objective lens caps that come with the binocs ? Or get another set of them and use those.

I have tried to get another set of the originals but no luck. Out here on the coast we are kind of on our own. Trips to the valley are seldom, as that is where I owuld have the most luck. The plumber idea is a fine suggestion and I will give that a try.
I did see a site that sold replacement caps for telescopes, a 100mm was 30.00 if you can believe that. They used to sell dewshields which I was considering as that is a problem here.
Thanks for your suggestions. This is truly one of my favorite sites!!
