Welcome Tina...
Although, for the life of me, I don't know why this forum should have more than one mod considering how much traffic it gets..

Thanks for the welcome! I look forward to hanging out with you guys. I don't think Mike is leaving, Tom T just wants backup in every forum. This looked fun and easy so I jumped on board.

Sorry about the misunderstanding then .
Of course , I trust Mike told you Tina , that the FIRST question you MUST answer before being allowed to moderate this motley crew is this :
Can YOU read a vehicle registration plate from a distance of FIVE MILES -- and if so , using WHAT scope / magnification ? :-)

Gary, Don't make me get the moderator whip out.....
Kenny, If I were going to scout something five miles away it wouldn't be a license plate! More like muscle beach.....

Well Tina ,
At least your introduction here has made for the fastest growing thread ( by numbers ) here since it's inception !

What can we do to remind people we are here? Any ideas on how to generate more interest?

Yes, we are fun and easy (I know that did not come out right). It is a nice, peaceful area of CN to relax. I am not sure there is a way to increase traffic. The topic is not really a mainstream interest here. As far as microscopes, I think I can count the number of members who use one on one hand.

We could run an ad campaign on other threads...

Posts beget more posts which draws traffic. If those who lurk here or check in occassionally would post more about their experiences with using optics for nature study etc. then this forum would attract more participants.
Just out of curiousity, how many of you consider yourselves birders? How many routinely travel to bird? That's just one aspect of the terrestrial use of optics, but worldwide, it's probably the most common.

I'm just a wayward traveler through these forums, looking for an appropriate venue for some of my pictures and this one seemed to come closest.
