Just wait till Sectorzed posts some photos from the Mt. Pinos star party. Then you'll see what yer up against. The contest includes facial hair, I might add, in what should be a cumulative measurement. So while I realize that this does put some of the lady contestants at a disadvantage, it does even out the fact that in years past I have cut my hair due to the gender prejudice against male long hair.

I'm turning 33 1/3rd in a couple of weeks - a big day considering my other spare time activity is DJ'ing.....
I Started this whole asronomy lark when I was a kid, got my degree in it, spent a few years on a PhD then got headhunted by intraweb companies so I never finished my thesis...

Novbabies,I'm working on an oil self-portrait when I can find the time(its pencil sketched now,I think it looks like me ;>))and hopefuly incorporate some sort of astronomical theme somewhere on it and use it as my avatar. In the meantime, when I can figure out how to do it,I'll probably just use a Hale-Bopp photo I took. Thanks for asking. I'm 59 and retired. I've owned a telescope since I was 13. My first scope was a 4" Criterion Dynascope that sold for $49.95.

well I'm 68. I remember having a cardboard refractor when i was about 10, but didn't get real interested until 6 years ago, when i bought an Astroscan. I'm a visual observer who doesn't like cold weather...

I'm 51. Been interested in astronomy since age 7 when I received my first scope, a handheld refractor. Graduated to a Sears cardboard reflector at age 9. Enough of a geek to take a few girlfriends to the Adler Planetarium for my 12th birthday. President of astronomy club in high school. Later on, college, career, marriage and childrearing eclipsed (pun intended) my favorite hobby. Now I've more time and more discretionary income to devote to studying the stars. (Still have all of my hair as well! )

I just turned 40 today, but I've been interested in the stars and astronomy since I was 8 years old. I got a hold of my father's 8x30mm binoculars and looked at the sword of Orion and was hooked ever since.
