Parents bought a cocker spaniel puppy and one of the things it used to do was crawl under tables and cabinets. So I came up with the name "Sherlock" because he investigated everything.
Had a goldfish named Benny
Currently own two cats, Julian and Ziggy.

I like to name my pets unpopular people names. Names that were once popular but now are considered horrible names. My current cat is named Gertrude. She had a sister named Agatha. I already have names for future cats. If its a boy Herbert if its a girl Mildred.
Oh when I took the cats to the vet for the first time the reseptionist ask for the names. I said Agatha and Gertrude and she busted up laughing. The poor cats had puzzled looks on their face wondering why they were being laughed at.

My present feline came from the animal shelter as "Jasmine". She was just 1 and a half years old. I changed it to "Kiki" (pronounced keykey). I have an old friend whose name is Nicole. Growing up her nickname was/is Kiki. I always liked the name therefore...

Two years ago I purchased a small farm and moved back to the country where I grew up. Shortly after moving there a stray black lab showed up. For over two months her name was DOG since she was so nice and I assumed someone would come and claim her... well they never did. I am a golf enthusiast (not real good). I ordered a new driver off of the internet and it showed up a few days later via UPS... I immediately pulled it out and hit some balls out over the end of a corn field on the property and into a neighboring marsh. These balls were given to me by friend who lives on a golf course and picks them up in his yard. The next morning I awoke to a bunch of golf balls laying next to the sidewalk to my garage... since the box of balls were in the garage on a park bench I assumed DOG had gotten them out of the box. The next night I hit some more and the following morning there was more golf balls next to the sidewalk. This time I noticed that some of the balls had logos on them and I was prettty sure they were the same logo balls I hit the night before. So the next night I hit only logo balls and sure enough the next morning there they all were. DOG was being a retriever and going down to the marsh and bringing each of the golf balls back. Thus, her new name could only be CADDY (my own personal caddy).
The story continues.....
May 2005 she went into heat and got away from me one morning over memorial day weekend. She bolted with a black lab that I wasn't familiar with from any of my neighbors. She ended the day at my neighbors with his big (and I mean big, like 130lbs big) yellow lab. He brought her home. She now has quite a repitation in the neighborhood. This was the only time she got away while she was in heat. On August 1, 2005 I had six puppies, 5 black lab puppies and one yellow lab puppy. I kept the yellow male puppy. Can you guess his name?
It is Shack ... so now I have Caddy Shack.

I named my German Shepard when I was little "Kracker Jack". My parents said I got the name from a Dolly Pardon song. But I don't remember that song.

My avitar is a 6 yr old evil male cat. His full name is Spaulding Von Schpangenhammer. Sometimes referred to as just "The Schpang". He has a sidekick, an 8 yr old grey and white female that weighs 17 lbs- her name is Patty O'Malley... Our old cat is an orange and white cat 18 yrs old, very loud meow. His full name is Simon Von Peachenhauser.
The alpha male of the dog pak we have is Ozzie, a 5 yr old black lab. We sometimes refer to him as The Ozzinator.
His sidekick is an 11 month old black lab/border collie (border lab) mix named Madison. The old male former alpha black lab is Bismark and the 8 yr old female is Raven.
So 3 cats and 4 dogs... also two snakes (Eunice, a 21 yr old gopher snake and Lily, a 12 yr old California King snake)
Now am I alone or need help?

My weirdest pet names so far are for my lizards. Giny(I have no idea why), Cleopatra or Cleo(My sisters idea), and Antony(just to go with Cleopatra.)
Then there was "The Devil" a pure white ball of EVIL We found her driving to school on the last day of school. A small ball of wet fur making its way towards a canal. We stopped and picked her up, she was flee ridden as well shivering and cold. We brought her home that day, and dried her of. We brought her to the vet that same day, they asked for her name, and we said "Snowbell"(don't ask) Shes been a devil ever since, tormenting our guests, even chasing away one of my sisters friends. Even with all her misdemeanors we still love her.
Dogs what about dogs? Yeah we have dogs but they don't really have weird names... Just human names.

Years ago my aunt and uncle had a Boxer mix they named Pug, not knowing there was actually a breed of dog with the same name. In college, I knew a guy with a tarantula named Cuddles.

We had a German Shepherd - Husky mix when I was growing up. We named him Fleabutt (Flea for short). I guess he had lots of fleas at the time.
He didn't seem to mind the name too much, though this was before the days of "pet psychics".
He lived to about 15 years of age and was a good pal.

One of our Goldens, from our first litter, named himself: "Muffer".
When he was a very tiny puppy, he sed to burp a lot, and the sound was "muuffff." So he became Muffer (Registered as Muffer Duffer Keeney). He was always a charmer, and sadly, died three years ago...
