CN FORUMS ARCHIVE Telescope Reviews: NASA Deep Impact craft Earth fly-by on 12-31

NASA's Deep Impact craft will make a close pass by Earth on December 31st and the pass will be visible to nighttime observers in certain parts of the world - but not the US, where the craft will barely break the horizon and will be lost in the daylight.

The spacecraft will be faint even at perigree is expect to be magnitude 12. NASA is seeking amateur images of the flyby.
