Thanks, Steve for posting that inset from my bino family history photo (at the top are the objective ends of two 8x30 E2s - Steve has one of those now -- and my 8x32 SE).

I see that my 9x63 does have "lips" at the end of the objectives.

The Pseudopod 9x63's front cap, which is missing, had the name of the brand (I hesitate to say "manufacturer," because as we well know today, except for a few bins made in Japan, Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic, the rest come from the same three factories in China).

Note the crushed right eyepiece cover. I dropped it on a road at a dark site one night. The next day I came back and found it, but it apparently had been run over, probably by my fellow club members the night before.

Now I just have to take off the "made in Japan" adapter cap and make some Optolyth Royal decals, and then I could sell these bins on eBay for the "bargain basement" price of $699.

Here's what new "baby Kahuna" 9x63 Royals sell for:

Brock, I am not at home right now, so I can not look at the other picture I have of your roof.The other picture has the the objective covers on [caps] as does this picture.
BTW down at Lex's Mum and Dad's place.
