Early yesterday chanced on my planetarium prog [Cartes du Ciel] and noted Venus due south at 10AM BST and half way up the sky at 45 deg - so set my '70' on the patio [paving slabs aligned north-south

] and set the altitude to 45 deg - behold Venus just off-centre in x15 eyepiece - how lucky was that
