To add to brian's comment, the forks are quite stiff and, being made of plastic, you have to be careful prising them apart.

When I removed the OTA from the forks (just out of curiosity I might add), I was very nervous that one (or both) forks would break, you have to use that much force. However, all was well.

I have to disagree with brian's comment about re-installation though. I found that it was a breeze.

Don't forget, however, that the focusing control which passes through the rear cell must be removed as it will not allow the OTA to be pulled forwards.
