Rony, An excellent observation of what the Whirlpool Galaxy (M51, NGC 5194/5195) looks like in a good pair of binoculars under dark skies. Although prominent in many images the spiral arms are not so easy to detect in apertures less than 6 inches (15 cm.) and under less than dark skies. I have looked at this object in large Dobsonians and it looks great. I look forward to your future binocular observations. Carlos |
