i finally viewed M51 tonight. in celebration i took a few pics. its nothing spectacular but im happy to get the spiral structure.
orion 120mm f8.3 on an orion astroview
canon a560 through a 32mm gso plossl
107 15sec subs iso400
stacked in DSS, processed in PSCS2, noise reduction using neat image

thats true, Kerry. i must admit i was a little excited when i could see some swirl around the core in the preview screen. not as excited as i was to finally see it visually, though.
