First viewing in a very long time

Hi Everyone
I haven't used either one of my telescopes in a long time life gets busy next thing you know years go by. I have been reading though posts now for a few weeks and it’s help motivate me to get back into it. I also just move into a new house providing me a better view of the sky. I was given the ETX-90EC few years back and never really used it so this week I made a mounting plate out of wood to mount it onto my Meade standard wedge and tripod, once I mounted it I aligned the finders scope that was a pain took awhile to get it right there is no crosshairs. So last night I took it out to look at the moon and Saturn I really enjoyed my time and the ETX-90EC is a really fine little scope. I defiantly will be using it more here in the near future.

Regards,
Dave

Re: First viewing in a very long time

Hi Dave, and welcome to CN! The 90 is an awesome little scope by all accounts (I haven't had the pleasure of using one myself, but judging from some of the photos and reports I've seen here, it's a marvelous instrument!)

I'm not sure what kind of finder you have on the 90EC, although it sounds like you might have a small optical finder. I know a lot of folks wind up putting a Telrad or similar "dot" style finder to replace or augment their optical finders, so that may be an option for you.

Looking forward to hearing more as you rediscover your hobby! Clear skies!
