Hello, I'm considaring buying a ETX on eBay. Somebody knows what is that small part in the picture? Thanks!

It looks to me to be the extension of the plastic shroud ring also seen above the finder scope -- nothing to worry about.

And the white spot is just the writing on the viewfinder.

There is no plastic part, look carefully, it is just the plastic from the backcell, follow its border all the way around the ota!
