WOW ! What a selection trouble again... I think that every month it gets even more difficult... Congrats to all! Amazing work !!! |
My first post and all I can say is wow! Fantastic images from everyone... |
Simply stunning! All the images are very nice, I really liked the sketching but in the end I voted for the lunar surface (easily the best I have seen). |
All make my feeble efforts look...err...well...feeble ![]() bravo to all! |
A truly brutal decision... they were ALL incredible! Way to go, everyone
There were at least 3 that I thought were amazing. I felt guilty just picking one. Keep up the truly excellent work all !! Sam |
That was a very tough choice. Erica – your solar sketches just get better and better. However, with so many fantastic entries and a lot of head scratching, in the end I had to go for Mike B. That was a fantastic composition to pull off. Congrats. Nick |
I wish my results could be even a quarter as good as these are. |
Fantastic images! |
I would have voted for all of them if it were allowed. Each is deserving of a big shout-out. Wow! Mel R. |
Hi, Ultra tough decision! Brilliant Pictures. ![]()
All is good! Diffcult for me to just one vote! Sketching the Sun is really great! I picked M33 and comet because its so rare to have both in one photo! |
This is really hard to decide. I also picked M33 and comet not only because is rare but because I like it very much. Moon shot is also fantastic. And others too of course. |
Extra-ordinary pictures. Especially Clavius, what a detail and that with a 12" newt....just incredible... |
Chosing only one was too hard, I voted for the Lunar shot, great detail to the others all I can say is Im not worthy ![]() Phil |
M33 and Comet for me too as that was not only technically difficult and brilliantly executed, but an extremely rare event. |
How come there isnt an "all of the above" button? |
My choice was easy
Clavius has always fascinated me. It still does, even after voting for it. A great bunch of imaging. Congratulations to all. FAB |
Strgazr27 shot was great!
I'll go with the simple beauty M81/M82. But the others I would love to print and hang in the office. I do some photo stuff and I'm sooooo jealous. Great job guys. |
The moon mosaic by "iceman" is so cool. It almost has a 3 dimensional effect and makes me feel as though I'm a few miles above the surface! |
I have to protest. These are fanatastic -- all of them. I can't choose. In fact, I don't think we should be pitting photos against sketches. That's kind of like having a contest where a gymnast competes against a singer -- who's better? That's my humble opinion, anyway... Pete |
Mike's 'Clavius' image is my favorite.. absolutely stunning!
We owe a debt of gratitude to everyone who has gone to so much trouble to produce all these great images. I had an awful time trying to pick just one. I think it would be better if we could vote for 1-2-3-4-5 and have a simple weighted system to tally up the winner. Kind of like figure skating. All the scores from all the judges are added up to get a better overall average. Just a thought. A HUGE thank you to all the participants. Keith |
Each was spectacular, so it wasn't an easy choice. I had to keep going back to each one to ponder on it a while. The one that I came back to most frequently though, was Clavius, so that's my vote. |
Awesome job guys. |
-Another vote for "they were all magnificent" category. They all had exceptional strong points. Uh, is there any chance the T-shirt could be divided five ways? Or maybe just give out five this month? |
Yes, all are magnificent, stunning and spectacular. Every one is a winner. |
WOW all of these are absolutely GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Heres to all of your great work!! |

I would shoose the lunar picture, but ERIKA'S sketch is hard to beat. YOSSI |

Hi, All amazing pictures, very difficault to choose. My vote goes to iceman - a breathtaking close-up ! cheers, Janos |
Jim Lafferty's Heart Nebula in Narrowband is the favorite. |
Can 6 t-shirts be awarded? But (sigh) as always I am forced to choose only one -- it wasn't easy..... |
This is my first time voting. All the images are outstanding and I can't really tell which is technically the most difficult. Yes, I know, they all are! Anyhow, I just voted from the Wow! side of the brain.

Quote: Thanks, Nick. The Sun has been such an interesting target to learn about and I've been having fun trying to make as accurate recordings as I can in the process.
Mike B's M33 and Tuttle is fantastic as well as the others. This imaging contest is certainly helping to show what amazing images can be achieved by amateurs with a variety of tools. Well done, everyone!

I simply can 't vote... they are all amazing |

Amazing Pics.. I envy all the contestents, but appreciate their dedication and hardwork in producing these pics.. I have just started with Astroimaging, hence my vote goes to Strgazr27 ![]() ------ Sriram Celestron CPC 9.25 XLT Celestron Starseeker 80mm Homemade Dob 8" |

OK, I have no idea how difficult any of these shots were to obtain. I can, however, see that a great deal of work went into each. Awesome stuff folks! I really had a difficult time picking any one, so it basically came down to a "coin toss" type decision! |
Nice work All..... I still like to see how much one can "squeeze" out of minimal equipment!!!!! |
Truely outstanding work all...I have to go with the sketch this time, but my goodness that was a hard decision. |

All the pictures are awesome, cheers to all. But Jim Lafferty definately has an edge. |
