Tom,
Excellent article on Ophiucus! It DOES span a large area of sky, hence the multiple objects for hunting in it. A number of nights could be spent on these. While I'm not that big on globulars, I'll search for a planetary nebula any time I can. Thanks for including all the objects you did. As a harbinger of Summer, I hope Ophiucus' rise also protends better observing weather. Central Kentucky can be so wet during the Spring and muggy in Summer.

Tom: Thanks very much for these great articles. I am using them in my efforts to learn the sky. Last month I toured Canes Venatici and Coma Berenices with your help. This month, Lyra and Ophiuchus. As I go through the article at the telescope, I note my observations in a Messier log, slowly gaining ground on getting my Messier certificate. Thanks again.

Tom wonderful addition to Small Wonders and like others, I love these articles. Now if I could only get out of the rain pattern that Utah is in and have that summer high pressure take control of the state, or at least give a night or two of seeing. Then I might be able to try Ophiucus Small Wonders Out! Great job again and thanks for your efforts and to those who contribute to help the article come out with sketches and pictures.

Thank you gentlemen. Steven, you don't know how gratified to hear that I'm able to help. One of the raison d'etre's for the series (and a lot more frankly) was to help out others - especially those who don't have a local club.
Jay, The weather has been particularly abysmal this year over here in Michigan as well - but I'm hopeful that it will improve soon. As always.

And yet another timely addition. If the weather holds I'll be at a club dark site 6/20, and I'll have a copy of SW: Ophiuchus in hand.

Thanks Tom for the nice review.
It is so nice to have these articles and be able to use them with a small 8" scope. Really a pleasure. At least i can prepare for those rare nights of clear skies!!

As always, thanks for the excellent article, Tom. Any chance you'll be posting a PDF version of the article, like you've done with the others in the Small Wonders series? I like to put them on my laptop for when I'm out in the field.

I would second that, Tom. A PDF of your article on Markarian's Chain would be real nice. Thanks Buddy

HI Tom,
Thanks for a great article! Didn't catch this till I had already put the scope up for the night, unfortunately.
Tonight was the first time I observed in Ophiuchus, and even though I struck out with the scope, I did find M12 and M10 with the bino's.. My viewing space is limited by trees, and it was 0100 before those 2 entered the "window". Next time out I know just where to find 'em, plus a few other goodies thanks to the article you posted.
Superb!

Hi Phil,
I've gotten really busy the last few days / weeks, and it's not going to slow down any too soon. Bill and Jay PDF'd the Hercules article for me, perhaps someone can do this one? If you can e-mail it to me tonight or tomorrow, I can get it up in short order.
Thanks for the comments folks.

I hate to be the one to say it, but Acrobat Reader 8 under XP has no issues. Perhaps an upgrade is needed?

You're welcome Carol. We have some amazingly talented people on the boards, it's fun to have a chance to show some of their work off.
